End of the year part 2: Top performances

If I could direct you to a fantastic blog titled City Lights where writer Laura puts to words her innermost thoughts on all things film, you will notice a remarkable quote by the inimitable Marlon Brando. It is a quote that captures what I love so much about acting. Playing a role means living that role, breathing it. To live a role means to understand the details about the act of living. Directors give the instructions, but not everyone can execute properly, and no one actor does it exactly the same way as another. I’m an actors and actresses kind of movie fan, I’ve never shied away from that reality, so it is understandable if I get a bit excited when a I notice a great performance. Below are some of the best, both female and male, which caught the attention of Between the Seats in 2010. Some of these have already received extensive praise in the reviews for the movies in which the performers played their parts, while others went mentioned since January. So cool that you included Moretz I thought she was absolutely phenomenal. Don't get me wrong I prefer the original, but boy that was a good remake.

Jennifer Lawrence is definitely my pick for Female Lead of the year, although, Ailee Steinfeld is a close second.

As for male leads, Jesse Eisenberg is still the performance that sticks out the most in my mind.
