Hello readers!
It's a long weekend where I live right now, which is nice because I get to escape the Monday morning blues of going back to work. I'll have Tuesday blues of going back to work, but that's another story. Having some extra time off allows me to surf the blogosphere a bit more and engage with fellow writers. In celebration of the Queen and of rebellious patriots where I live, here are some of the interesting articles published recently by people who fight till the death for the blogging cause:
-Stacia from
She Blogged by Night has an excellent article that might have any interest in Bette Davis with a review of
1952's The Star
-Bob Turnball offers some well written articles that sum up some the films which played at this year's Hot Docs festival, his
Short Cuts series
-Bonjour Tristesse shows some definite love for the classic
Passion of Joan of Arc from 1928..
-Over at
Surrender to the Void, the Void himself wrote a little
post-mortem to conclude his Cannes festival marathon.
-Now that the dust has settled with the LAMMY nominations, check out
The Dark of the Matinee to see how many categories the Mad Hatter is in the running for.
-Finally, check out fellow
Reelists writer Chuck Canzoneri's latest
One Strong Opinion article, in which he bemoans the previews used by big studios in attempts to tantalize audiences in the months before all those big blockbusters are released.

Thanks for the link mate, I'm quite humbled by all the love from the greater community. No time to rest on my laurels though - need to start work on raising my game even higher for 2011/2012!
@Mad Hatter: people aren't kidding when they share positive comments about your blog. You're rather prolific all the while keeping a high level of quality to your work, which can't be all that easy. You have a podcast, you offer in-depth coverage of two major festivals and you're columns have a great variety of themes.
It's a fun site to visit and offers something different almost every time. Really, really...classy stuff.
Hi and thanks for the linkage, much appreciated.
@Bonjour Tristesse: I check out your site every now and then. I like you work. I try to delve into the foreign and art house circles of film myself sometimes
Thanks for the linkage. I hope you enjoyed my marathon as I'm now taking a few days off.
@thevoid99: It did make for a good read when I paid a visit. It was a good since because it shined some light on a few movies that don't get mentioned very often.
