Hello
readers,
Now
that the Definitive Alien marathon has come to a close, it is
time for Between the Seats to look forward to the next project. The
recent release of The Amazing Spider-Man has many people
reminiscing about the previous set of films, each one directed by Sam
Raimi. The decision on the part of Sony to hire Raimi for such films
was a bold one given how many of his most popular previous efforts were much
raunchier, bloodier and more horrific than anything the studio surely
had in mind when it set out to bring the adventures of Peter Parker
to the big screen. He had, however, attempted to prove himself in other genres as well, even though many people do not link Raimi to his other, less graphic films very often.
This
may speak to the directors relative flexibility when it comes to the
various stories he enjoys sharing with the world. That is but an
assumption, and the only way to prove or disprove it is by exploring
the director's filmmography. It has been some time since the last
directed-centric marathon, the last one dating back to February and
March of last year when we reviewed the films of Guillermo del Toro,
and so the time feels right to get back on the saddle on focus on a
director yet again. Seeing as how the past few marathons did not
respect the initially settled time lines, none should shall be
advertised this time around. The marathon might require two months
just as it could be done in a few weeks. In spirit of
diversification, Between the seats will take a look at some of
Raimi's early, more horror centric efforts, his mid-to late 90s
drama, and of course his foray into big budget filmmaking with the
Spider-Man trilogy. We hope you join along!

Uh... where's For the Love of the Game?
I know it's not a great movie but it does have some fine moments of Kevin Costner playing baseball, John C. Reilly, J.K. Simmons, Brian Cox, and, of course, Jena Malone.
If they had taken some of the mushy romantic story, it would've been a better film.
@thevoid99: Well, as with any marathon, the lineup is subject to change. The posted lineup is not set in stone. I'll how readily available that film is before considering it.
We are happy to announce the arrival of Cinema Mama, the most comprehensive and academic website to understand the Indian Cinema, especially Telugu Cinema
